"Love Lust," King Charles
(pasta primavera mp3)

i've got to give credit to my friends at Improper Opera for showing me this one. ever since I came across the video on their blog probably over a month ago, I have been in love with this song.
a true masterpiece of emotion.
and absolutely brilliant lyrics.

"Goth Star," Pictureplane
(some of it was true mp3)

the name may be slightly off-putting for most, but i say: give this one a chance!
i mean, who doesn't love a lil' Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac-sampling electronic mash-up mix?

plus, it has a great video. here's the youtube link: "Goth Star," Pictureplane -- video

"Go Outside," cults
(weekly tape deck mp3)

though they have thus far only released three tracks ( and three tracks marked release date: 2012, at that ) i am already quite certain that cults will be a favorite of mine for much time to come. the childish, airy vocals and ethereal beat of "go outside" feel like spectacular summer. i guarantee the song will help make the remainder of the school ( or work ) year seem much shorter.

Home (RAC Remix), Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
(indie music filter mp3)

i'm baaaaaack.

and with a fantastic tune for you all.

an already beautiful song with a lovely twist. a bit mellower, with a twinge of melancholy almost... but only in a way that evokes a sense of longing, not loss... perhaps as with a long distance relationship with someone you care more about than anything and just want to see, need to see, right in this moment, right in every moment, in order to truly feel "home."

i dunno. somethin' like that.

"Don't Slow Down," Matt & Kim
(thefmly mp3)

instructions:
1. select method of listening (highly recommended: "grand" by matt & kim vinyl; if no access to the aforementioned exists, speakers/computer/whatever will have to do. oh, a walkman might be a fun alternative...)
2. turn up volume to maximum (tolerable) level (might want to be careful if taking the walkman route... or not. your ears are probably ruined from concerts and/or your own playing anyway)
3. dance around room; clean room if messy, m & k will keep you motivated aka this is a prime time to put all those clothes on your floor in the laundry/closet
4. keep dancing
5. "don't slow down." ever.

"Frontwards," Los Campesinos!

a lesser known track by my favorites. really fantastic. aleks and gareth sound lovely together, as usual. the instrumentals are quite excellent as well.

"Scattered Diamonds (Alcopop Remix), " Hungry Kids of Hungary
(cause=time mp3)

i don't really know how to describe this HKoH song: australian... indie pop/rock.... twee-ish... voice like-ish that of john robert cardwell of SSLYBY... prime tune for dancing... good background music... great lyrics... fun remix...
i think you get the point.
